Our story

About The School of Mediumship

A dedicated school in India for learning evidential mediumship: openly, carefully and to a high standard.

The School of Mediumship was founded by Dr. Rashhi Sharma and is operated by Soul Consciousness Lab® in Bengaluru. Our training is residential, taught in person in small groups, and built on a simple principle.

Let the evidence come first.

Why the School exists

Why We Founded the School

For many years, people have come to Soul Consciousness Lab® for other work: regression, hypnotherapy, shamanic practice and consciousness training. Again and again, our conversations turned to mediumship.

We met people who had paid a great deal for readings that gave them little they could recognise, and some who had been left more distressed than before. Most had never heard of evidential mediumship: the practice of offering specific, recognisable details about a person who has died, so that the sitter can judge for themselves what is meaningful. Few knew that mediumship includes other recognised forms, such as trance and spirit art, each with its own training. And almost no one knew that, in established traditions, a medium is expected to train for years before working professionally with the public.

In India, mediumship is often offered alongside other practices, such as astrology, Reiki, Akashic records or meditation, by people who have never trained in mediumship itself. Each of those practices has its own methods and value, but none of them is training in mediumship. Structured, in-person training has been very hard to find, and students who wanted to learn properly had little choice but to travel abroad.

We believe mediumship deserves better: honest teaching, real standards, and care for the people it is meant to serve.

The School exists to offer that: a place in India where mediumship is taught openly as a discipline that can be learned, rather than kept behind an air of mystery, and where students understand both what the work can offer and what it cannot.

The founder's path

A Long Preparation

Dr. Rashhi Sharma has spent more than fifteen years working with people at the edges of ordinary awareness. She has trained extensively in hypnotherapy and regression, advanced shamanic practice, out-of-body exploration, Monroe Institute methods, remote viewing, and psychic and Akashic records reading, and today teaches many of these disciplines. Mediumship was always close to that work, and closest to her heart.

In her words

“From a young age, my connection with the spirit world was deep, but I did not understand it. I had experiences I could not explain, and no framework to hold them. I did not want to perform mediumship or hide behind mystery. I wanted to understand it, and to build a structure around it.

That structure came with years of practice, and later with teachers who insisted on evidence, ethics and care. It did not come quickly, and it should not have. A deep connection is only the beginning; training is what makes it responsible. This work can touch people at the most tender moments of their lives. It deserves our very best.”

Dr. Rashhi Sharma · Founder & Lead Trainer

Her formal study of mediumship began in the United States with Suzanne Giesemann. She chose not to teach it straight away. First she practised, and then she sought out experienced teachers, studying in person at Arthur Findlay College and The College of Psychic Studies in the United Kingdom. Only then did she begin to plan a school.

She has seen what mediumship can mean when it is practised with integrity: comfort for people who are grieving, a sense of connection, and meaning they can recognise for themselves. She has also seen what is lost when it is practised without training or ethics. The School is her answer to both.

Our standards

What We Stand For

  1. Evidence first

Students learn to offer specific, recognisable information, to separate an impression from their interpretation of it, and to be honest when something is not recognised. A responsible medium must be willing to say, I do not know.

  2. Care for the sitter

People often come to mediumship at vulnerable moments. Consent, confidentiality and sensitivity to grief come first, and a reading should never create fear, dependency or pressure to believe.

  3. Training before practice

Mediumship is learned in person, through sustained, supervised practice in a small group, not from a weekend course or a recording.

  4. Open teaching

We explain what mediumship is, how it is practised and where its limits lie, without mystique and without promises.

  5. Fair and clear terms

Fees, expectations and what a certificate does and does not mean are published before anyone applies.

Part of Soul Consciousness Lab®

The School of Mediumship is operated by Soul Consciousness Lab®, the Bengaluru institute Dr. Rashhi founded for professional training and consciousness education.
