Training pathways
Mediumship Training in India
A place to begin carefully, develop through practice, and explore the wider disciplines of mediumship.
Based in Bengaluru and welcoming students from India and abroad, The School of Mediumship teaches mediumship as a discipline in its own right. Every pathway begins with understanding what mediumship is and the responsibility that comes with it, and keeps recognisable evidence, careful observation and care for the sitter at the centre of development.
Our residential foundation, Evidential Mediumship Level 1, is open for applications. Level 2 is in development, and the School is preparing distinct pathways in other forms of mediumship. Each will be published with its own scope and entry requirements when it is ready.

Where to begin
There Is More Than One Way to Begin
Mediumship is not one technique, and students do not all arrive with the same background. The right starting point depends on what you hope to study, the experience you already have, and the kind of practice you are ready to commit to.
-
01
I am new to mediumship.
Begin with Evidential Mediumship Level 1. No previous mediumship training is needed. You will learn the foundations of evidential practice, the difference between psychic and mediumistic impressions, and the responsibilities that come with giving a sitting.
Explore Level 1 -
02
I have practised before.
Level 1 gives an experienced student a consistent structure for evidence, feedback and private sittings, taught in person with supervised practice. Level 2 is intended for a later stage of development and will include a readiness review when it opens.

03
I am drawn to a particular form.
Read about the School’s planned specialist pathways below, from trance and spirit art to healing and public demonstration. Each is a distinct discipline, and each will set its own entry requirements.

Earlier training with Soul Consciousness Lab®, in hypnotherapy, shamanism, out-of-body exploration or Monroe Institute methods, is not required to apply for Level 1.
The evidential mediumship pathway
A Foundation First. Then Greater Depth.
In evidential mediumship, a medium seeks to communicate information attributed to a spirit communicator: a person understood, within Spiritualist practice, to be in the spirit world. The emphasis is on details the sitter can recognise, such as a personality, a relationship, a memory or something distinctive about everyday life. Recognition belongs to the sitter; it is never supplied by the medium.
Our core pathway develops this work step by step, without confusing attendance on a course with readiness to practise professionally.
Open for applications · Next intake 11–16 December 2026
Evidential Mediumship Level 1
A six-day, fully residential foundation in Bengaluru: 70 total training hours of teaching, supervised practice and required independent work, in a group of no more than 12. Dr. Rashhi Sharma and Prabhat Sharma both teach throughout the six days.
You will work with sitting in the power (a meditative practice of stillness, central to Spiritualist development), modes of perception, psychic and mediumistic awareness, recognisable evidence, consent, the structure of a private sitting, and reflective feedback, with fellow students and before the group.
In development · Not yet open for enrolment
Evidential Mediumship Level 2
A planned seven-day residential programme of 85 total training hours, for students ready to refine the specificity, coherence and continuity of their evidence; to sustain longer private sittings; to work responsibly with uncertainty and more complex sitter situations; and to begin supervised group or platform work.
Entry will be based on Level 1 completion or equivalent development, and a readiness review. Dates, tuition, venue and final admission requirements will be published when approved. Level 2 cannot be booked yet.
Levels 1 and 2 together make up 155 total training hours, including required independent learning; this is not 155 hours of classroom contact. Completing Level 2 will not, on its own, establish professional competence or accreditation.
Understanding the practice
Evidence, Interpretation and the Sitter’s Response
Mediumship development is often described in terms of impressions: images, feelings, sounds, words or a sense of simply knowing. In evidential work, what matters is not only that an impression is experienced, but how responsibly it is described, checked against the sitter’s recognition, and understood afterwards.
A student may receive an image and immediately attach a story to it. Learning to separate the original impression from the interpretation is an important part of training. So is knowing when to stop, listen, and accept that a detail has not been recognised.
Let the evidence come first.
Recognisable detail
Work towards specific information about character, relationships, memories and lived experience, not broad statements that could apply to almost anyone.
Non-leading communication
Describe what you perceived without handing the sitter an answer or pressing them to agree.
Discernment and honesty
Notice the difference between perception and assumption, and be comfortable saying, “I do not know.”
These are teaching principles within a spiritual and experiential tradition. Information a sitter recognises is central to evidential practice; it should not be confused with scientific proof of any particular explanation for the experience.
How we teach
Learning Happens in the Practice
A course can explain the vocabulary of mediumship. Development asks for more: time to notice what happens when you work, to hear another person’s response, and to change how you approach the next sitting.
Our residential foundation moves between teaching, observation, partner exercises, trainer guidance and reflection. Students practise with different partners and gradually bring the foundational elements together in fuller sittings.
-
Step 1
Perceive
Notice the impression before deciding what it means.
-
Step 2
Describe
Communicate it faithfully, without embellishment.
-
Step 3
Receive feedback
Listen to what the sitter does and does not recognise; the sitter validates the information.
-
Step 4
Reflect
Examine perception, interpretation, recognition and uncertainty, with the trainers’ guidance.
In Level 1, each student takes part in 20 to 25 supervised practice sessions, working with fellow students and before the group. The faculty set the exact sequence to meet the group’s learning needs.
See the Level 1 curriculumTeaching hours and independent assignments are stated honestly on every programme page. A Certificate of Completion depends on meeting the programme’s requirements; it is not a licence to practise as a professional medium.
The wider field
Different Forms of Mediumship Deserve Different Training
Evidential private sittings are one part of a much wider field. Other traditions and forms of practice place their emphasis on altered states, spiritual healing, creative expression, inspirational communication or work before an audience. Their methods and responsibilities overlap in places, but they are not interchangeable.
The pathways below are planned directions for The School of Mediumship, not current enrolment offers. Before any application opens, we will publish each curriculum, who teaches it, its entry level, its format and its dates.
- Planned
Trance Mediumship
Explores mediumship associated with deeper altered states of awareness, and what Spiritualist traditions call blending with spirit. It calls for careful preparation, close supervision and its own safeguards.
- Planned
Art & Mediumship
Explores spirit-inspired drawing, portraiture and symbolic art as forms of expression within mediumship. Students learn to distinguish a creative impression, its interpretation, and any evidential claim made about an artwork.
- Planned
Healing Mediumship
Studies spiritually oriented healing within mediumship traditions, together with consent, clear boundaries, and the difference between spiritual care and medical treatment, which it never replaces.
- Planned
Psychic Development
Develops psychic awareness of people, situations and places, and a clear understanding of how this differs from communication attributed to a spirit communicator. It does not involve fortune-telling or prediction.
- Planned
Inspirational & Channeled Communication
Explores inspired speaking and writing, and communication that practitioners attribute to spiritual sources, with particular attention to discernment, attribution and responsible claims.
- Planned
Public Demonstration Mediumship
Addresses the added responsibility of giving evidential communication before a group: care for the audience, presentation, clear evidence, consent and constructive assessment. It is a different skill from a private sitting.
Some future specialist programmes may welcome beginners and teach their own foundations; others may require earlier development. Each discipline will set its own entry requirements once its curriculum is approved.
Residential, online and continuing learning
Different Formats for Different Learning Purposes
The depth and purpose of a programme should decide its format. Learning to practise mediumship and learning about mediumship are different needs, and we keep them clearly apart.
Residential programmes
Evidential Mediumship Level 1 is taught in person over six consecutive days, with a compulsory five-night stay. Living and learning together means partner practice, discussion and reflection continue beyond the classroom timetable. Longer advanced and specialist residential programmes will be described individually when confirmed.
Online knowledge sessions
Short live sessions online, usually two to four hours, each exploring one specialised topic related to mediumship. They are designed to inform: a beginner can build understanding before training, and an experienced student can deepen their knowledge of a particular subject. They are not mediumship training, and they do not teach or develop the practice of mediumship, which at the School is always learned in person. They do not lead to a Certificate of Completion. Topics and dates will be announced; none are open for booking yet.
Continuing development
Eligible graduates can stay involved through monthly online group sessions with Dr. Rashhi, mediumship peer practice and the wider Soul Consciousness Lab® alumni community, under the published training terms. This is continuing group learning, not unlimited private mentoring.
Each programme page sets out its own format and entry conditions.
The people and standards behind the teaching
Experienced Teachers. Clear Responsibilities.
The School is founded and led by Dr. Rashhi Sharma, with Prabhat Sharma as Trainer and co-teaching faculty. Both have studied mediumship in person at Arthur Findlay College and The College of Psychic Studies in the United Kingdom, and Dr. Rashhi has also studied with Suzanne Giesemann in the United States.
Their wider backgrounds include teaching and practice in hypnotherapy, regression, consciousness exploration and related fields. That experience informs how they teach, but it is never presented as a substitute for mediumship-specific study. Neither college, nor any individual tutor, endorses, accredits or certifies the School.
The ethics of mediumship are discussed openly throughout the training: consent, confidentiality, sensitivity to grief, clear boundaries, the handling of unrecognised information, and respect for each sitter’s own judgment. A Certificate of Completion records that defined learning requirements were met; it does not confer a professional title or guarantee an outcome.
Questions
Questions Before You Choose Your Training
Something not answered here? Ask us; we usually reply within 24 hours.
Can I begin without previous mediumship experience?
Yes. Evidential Mediumship Level 1 welcomes adults who are new to the subject as well as those with related experience. It is taught in English and requires full residential participation. Every applicant has a two-way Clarity & Suitability Conversation before enrolling.
Do I need hypnotherapy, shamanism or Monroe Institute training first?
No. These are separate areas of study and are not prerequisites for Level 1. The School treats mediumship as a discipline in its own right.
Where does the training take place?
Level 1 is fully residential at Discovery Village Resort, Bengaluru, where students stay for five nights with meals included in the residential charge. Venue, rooms and the daily rhythm are described on the Level 1 page.
Can international students join?
Yes. All teaching is in English, and students from outside India are welcome. International students can pay by international bank transfer or through a secure card payment link; we confirm the exact amount and payment details in writing.
Can I join Level 2 directly?
Level 2 is in development and not yet accepting applications. Entry will be based on Level 1 completion or equivalent development, and a readiness review. The full policy will be published before enrolment opens.
Are the other pathways available yet?
Not yet. Trance Mediumship, Art & Mediumship, Healing Mediumship, Psychic Development, Inspirational & Channeled Communication and Public Demonstration are planned. Their cards explain each focus; they are not booking offers.
Will a course qualify me to practise professionally?
A Certificate of Completion records the learning requirements you met. It is not a licence to practise or an independent accreditation, and no particular spiritual or evidential result is promised. Professional readiness takes further development and sound judgment.
How do I decide whether this is right for me?
Read the programme details, including the residential commitment, fees and completion requirements, and ask us anything through the Contact page. Level 1 applicants have a Clarity & Suitability Conversation with Mr. Arrjun Sharma, Director of Soul Consciousness Lab®, before any booking deposit is requested.
Begin with Understanding. Continue with Practice.
Mediumship can be deeply meaningful to those who practise it and to those who seek a sitting. That is why the way it is learned matters.
If you are looking for a considered introduction to evidential mediumship, explore Level 1 in full. If your interest lies in another branch of mediumship, take time to understand the differences and follow the School’s developing pathways.
We would rather you choose your training with clear expectations than feel hurried into a course.
